Recently, it was reported that Chief Keef has been ordered to pay $10,400 in back child support and an additional $2,600 a month for current support. It's a good thing the Chicago rapper is making money making moves. Otherwise he would be online filling out applications for McDonald's and Burger King!
The Interscope artist is also set to launch a his own headphones called Beats By Keef. He's going to need all the support he can get so he won't end up in jail again, this time for non-child support payments. The good news is Chicago is a big city and it might take some time for the child support division to catch up with him.
Previously, it was reported that Keef partnered with Gucci Mane by joining Bricksquad!
Like many other artists rumor has it that Dame Dash former CEO of Roc-A-Fella Records is reportedly broke and deep in debt.
According to the Daily News, Dash owes almost $2 million in taxes for the state of New York and he's behind $100k in rent on his mansion in NYC. Dash didn't deny those rumors. According to him, he's several months behind on his personal bills.
"I am currently over $100,000 behind in rent for the only home in which I live an in risk of being evicted," Dash revealed in court documents.
Dash also issued a statement to a judge asking him not to garnish his wages for nearly $238,000 for a lawsuit from a loan back in 2008. In addition to back rent and taxes Dash pays close to $30,000 a month in child support. He has also given up $20,000 in garnished wages for other reported debts. Dash blames financial issues on him falling behind in rent and other personal bills and his inability to keep his business ventures up.
He told NY Daily News that he's a business man and what happened comes with it. He says he has the guts to fight his own battles.
"It's entertainment to everybody else because I'm so cool about it," Dash said.
Dash can't be broke! He is part owner of Vampire clothing with rapper Jim Jones. He still has a Vodka called V and Dusko Whiskey in the making, not to mention Dash Oil company. He just hit a rough spot that's all!
According to rumors, New York rapper Ja Rule has been released from prison. Ja Rule was sentenced to two years in prison for gun possession and tax evasion. He began serving his time in June of 2011. However, the "Put It On Me" lyricist has been released but he's not 100 percent free.
With less than two months of jail time remaining Rule has been placed under house arrest until June 28TH.
Will Ja be making a comeback? Should he make a comeback? Before 50 Cent took Ja's crown he was one of the hottest rappers during his time. Ja Rule is more than a rapper, he's an emcee!
Chicago rapper Kanye West is the next non actor to be on the big screen. Latest reports state that West will be starring in the sequel to Anchorman in "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" alongside Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell and Christina Applegate.
Although the father to be parades around like Mr. Tough Guy little does his fans know he is afraid of heights. While on set the "Golddigger" rapper asked for an umbrella to cover him up while he was on the roof. Also in the film West can be seen choking Steve Carrell with a hockey stick.
"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" will premiere in theaters five days before Christmas. Other star players in the film include Paul Rudd, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell and Vince Vaughn.
Rapper French Montana is mostly popular for the club banger hit "Pop That" featuring Uncle Luke on the hook. While the song may be a smash hit in the club and on the radio, Uncle Luke is demanding his cut.
According to reports, Luke and Montana both told their version of their story during and interview with Hot 97. Montana didn't give too much details on what occurred. He basically kept repeating what he heard Luke saying "French owe me some money". The rapper said he can' t owe Luke for something he doesn't own.
"You gotta own your product, it's owned by somebody named Lil J or something like that," Montana said.
Uncle Luke who said he doesn' t really know Montana and that Diddy invited him to be in a video but he didn't tell him about the song.
"They never told me the name of the song nor did they ever send me a copy of the song," He explained.
Luke added that there were conferences held where he heard Montana bragging about doing a song with him that he was never apart of. He said they still did the video even though he wasn't in it.
"I wasn't going to appear in anything I didn't hear or know anything about," Luke said on Hot 97.
He ended the interview saying he really had no problem with them using him on the song but they could have called and told him what was going on.
"Don't try to pull a fast one on me like this and then have me appear in the video without even a courtesy call," he added.
Luke didn't say for sure if he was going to sue Montana or not but he did say if he keeps up his little charade he will indeed file a lawsuit!
As we all know Chicago rapper Chief Keef signed a deal with Interscope Records, one of the top major record labels in the industry. He also joined a partnership with Interscope with his own record label Glory Boyz Entertainment where he serves as CEO.
According to recent hip hop news, Keef recently joined Gucci Mane on 1017 Brick Squad. Well, you lose some and you win some! Waka Flocka announced to MTV that he and Gucci are going their separate ways. He said he won't be doing no more music or doing any business with Gucci.
"I'll party with you, but I'm not doing no kind of business with you," Flocka said about Gucci.
New artists nowadays are signing with multiple labels. Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Do you think Keef made a good move signing with Brick Squad?
The infamous Busta Rhymes and producer Pharrell Williams have been accused of song jacking. A rapper named Monty went on record claiming the duo copied his song "Twerk It" and released it. According to Monty, he sent the track to an acquaintance of Williams and next thing you know the track was released!
Monty made a statement to the Miami Times saying the drum patterns and the hook lines are similar his version of the song.
That's quite shocking that Busta Rhymes would take another rapper's track and make it his own. Pharrell is a producer. One would think there's no need to steal songs when you got natural skills.
