Remember over the holiday wkend I showed y'all a video of Prob Da PK outside a Chicago bar having to defend himself from bitch ass racist's. It's crazy that after all this time, a black president, and alot of hard work to change America these idiot's still exist. Today with this new video Prob throws another punch in the form of this song, to strike a blow against that ugly, lingering underbelly of hatred.

The Whoevers have found their resonance, alike how the lottery of fate chose J. Arthur and DotKom to work together, through a series of personal trial-and-error leading up to the sublime batch of songs to showcase their individual talents collectively. theWhoevers on fb

This banger is from Big Taz from the North Pole of the Chi. "Hellova Night" is the perfect party track! Thanking God for his blessings & toasting it up to the good life. Taz skillfully describes the setting where he places us in the middle of the party, in rotation of the blunt & drink, surrounded by plethora of beautiful women. Dope flow laid over a equally dope beat!
Big Taz jokes, "I have been nominated for an Independent Artist Recognition Award Category...... Slept on Rappers!!!" Check his music here to see what he's talking bout: reverbnation.com/therealbigtaz
Dope music from my homie Giz. "Ride Wit Me" is a smooth track where we follow him as he takes a shawty from out of town on a tour of the Chi. Dope flow, nice beat & a soulful hook makes this a must listen!

Due to the success we've had with our Chicago Hip-Hop, Chi-Bangerz.com, I've decided broaden our reach on Mid-West HipHop exposure to help Artist's in smaller markets that have talent but lack the proper stage to showcase that talent. In May, we will launch Mil-Bangerz.com and Indy-Bangerz.com to accommodate this need. In the near future this franchise will blossom into a wildfire.
No wack shit, No politics, Just Bangerz. Welcome to the Movement.
I got up with my homie Nicholaus Kane, who happens to be Chi-Bangerz Artist of the Week, to talk about life, hip-hop, and his highly anticipated new project "Catalina Wine Mixer". Check it out...
BFM: When did you 1st fall in love with hip-hop?
NK: Man 1987.... when I heard Freaky Tales. Too Short was my first ever favorite rapper. I was hooked from then on
BFM: Everybody knows you as Novakane of the group Ivy League. What brought about the name change to Nicholaus Kane?
NK: Well Nicholaus is my government. Novakane is my line name from when I pledged (KAPsi). There is already a cat named Novakane and we are 2 opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't like ppl confusing the 2 of us so I just decided to go with something else. Plus Nicholaus Kane is smoother, more suitable to where I'm taking the music. But I'm forever Novakane the NOGOrilla!
BFM: You been leaking some great music from your upcoming project, "Catalina Wine Mixer," what's the whole concept around the project?
NK: The whole concept around the Wine Mixer is me being the most interesting man in the world. The black Dos Equis guy. "STAY THIRSTY, MY FRIENDS!" hahaha
What's the 1 thing that stands out on your new album, "Catalina Wine Mixer" that believe people will love and identify with the most?
NK: Probably how polished, but hard it is. Its a very refined sound but its still real gangster. Like tuxedo with the tooly-under-it flow.
BFM: Looks like you had fun on your "Passion Fruit" video shoot. Take us behind the scenes, what were some of your favorite moments on this shoot?
NK: Yea the shoot was a blast! Shout out to Fly Kite Media! They came with the whole vision. I just put it in their hands. I didn't even know what we were doing until the day of. The most fun scenes were the bathroom scenes. Fam kept busting outta the lil handcuffs Incredible Hulk style. hahaha
BFM: What's your favorite thing about the Chicago Hip-hop scene right now?
NK: I like the versatility on the "Go ILL" scene right now. Gangster, backpackers, hipsters, swag rappers, etc. Anything you want you can get outta Chicago hip hop. Plus there has been an extreme increase in unity on our scene too. That is def needed in order to catapult us into the major playing field
BFM: Where can we get our hands on your music and where can they see you live in person next?
NK: All of the Chicago blogs (yours (Chi-Bangerz), Fake Shore, Ruby Hornet, Whats In My Headphones--WIMH, gowherehiphop, etc) and the major blogs as well. itunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc (Novakane). And DEFINITELY go to YouTube and check out the Passion Fruit video. On the performance side I'm putting together something real special for the CWM release, late June or mid-July. BUT....... I want EVERYBODY to come out to Tantrik (800 W. Superior) on Friday 4/29 because the Kamp Kane Kampaign will be in full effect! I got an all female promo team I put together called the "Flirty Girls" and we gonna paint the town red! KAAANE!
Chicago's Neo Soul Singer, Coriz, continues her ascension to R&B greatness with a video for her new album "InEvitable". "PROB DA PK IS A NATIVE OF ROBBINS IL (HOME OF DWAYNE WADE) THAT HAS BEEN ROCKING THE HIP HOP SCENE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS. PROB DA PK HAS OPENED FOR ACTS SUCH AS JUNEVILE, LIL FLIP, FAT JOE, JADAKISS JUST TO NAME A FEW."
I heard the song watching the game the other day right when D.Rose started getting in Indy ass. We had our beer, we was rocking!!! So it's only right we show Mak some luv. Stop playing & sweep these chumps, GO BULLS!!!
"Mak Legend, who has been called 'The Greatest Rapper Never Heard,' will have his 'Madhouse on Madison' song featured during Monday's Bulls-Pacers playoff matchup on Comcast SportsNet.
'Madhouse on Madison' is a Bulls rally song that showcases the phenomenal playing ability of Derrick Rose as well as the strong supporting cast of Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, Luol Deng and the Bench Mob." CSNChicago.com more here

"Brand new mixtape from one of the illest emcees in the game. Longshot returns with 'Live From Gravebomb, 18 brand new songs mixed by Noam The Drummer."
This a 49 min journey through the mind of veteran Chicago MC Longshot. He killed every minute and the tracks are perfectly blended by Noam The Drummer. Grab a bottle of hennessee an bang this one all the way through. Dope shit!
Now this has nothing to do with Chicago HipHop, but it has everything to do with comedy. 1st his rapping sucks, then this cat got knocked out on camera, then he kissed some dudes hand at a concert, then he says he wants to fuck Kanye in da ass, now it only make sense that he decides to name his new album, "I'm Gay". Perfect title.
Here's him getting knocked out.
Here's him kissing dude's hands.
Then here's him explaining why he's naming his new album "I'm Gay"
Doing it way big at the age of 17! Tha IntaVention/Get$Girls rep Ashlee Bankz returns with her sophomore release Everybody Hates BANKZ which contains 10 all new tracks with features from Tha IntaVention's A-Way, Aramis and Bert Kenerson amongst others.

You show that you're a very talented vocalist as well as song writer, what are something in your childhood that brought you to this point? How did you get so good?
My parents said I started when I out the womb singing and snapping my fingers, but I beg to differ. Lol. I say that I started a 5 years old watching the Pointer Sisters sing. I loved how they harmonized. When I heard them I started looking for more harmony in music and pointed towards the Greats such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and The Jackson 5. I loved these musicians and would often imitate them. When I was 5 yrs old I wrote my first song called “Cowboy”. I sang it everywhere until my family got sick of it. But even though they were sick of it they would sing it too. My parents then bought me a boom box with a built in tape recorder and it was over from there. The rest is history.
How would you describe the brand of music you create?
Well its more R&B Neo-Soul. I grabbed on to this underground type of music because of its difference from the other genres. I also learned that this type of music is timeless. You can always go back to it and relate to it from past to future. And it can hang with whatever music is most popular at the time. I describe my brand of music as timeless. I think most of my fans might agree with me on this.
I'm in love with the singles from your upcoming EP, "InEvitable," what's the whole concept around the project?
Why, Thank You. Well I wanted the album to portray triumph, describing things that I may have went through but overcame. I can still smile, even when I am hurting. Meaning no matter how down I was or how I wanted to give up, it was “InEvitable” that I do music. Music is my outlet and how I can express how I am feeling, or even how others are feeling. I may be used to brighten someone else's day. So this thing is bigger then me. I have a whole world to heal. Thats InEvitably my goal.
"InEvitable" is due this Spring. What should fans expect from to receive from the EP?
They can expect a versatility. Something that fans wouldn't originally expect from me. There is a song on the album called “Bless My Hood”. I began the song off rapping and no one thinks that its me. They only think I'm singing on it. I want everyone to see my versatility as a songwriter first and foremost. Thats the longevity of the business. Singing and rapping doesn't last but 20 yrs if your lucky. Songwriting can last a lifetime.
Where can we get our hands on your music and where can they see you live in person next?
I have a lineup of festivals this Spring and Summer. I just performed at SXSW 2011 in Austin, TX. Which was cool. I will be at the Rap Factory for the “I AM CHICAGO” showcase May 5th, I will be at SIU Carbondale April 24th, I will be at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisc. in June, I will be performing at MobFest, and CMJ Music Marathon in NY. In June, also you can find my Music Video for “Please don't make me leave” on Fuse TV on demand viewable thru Comcast, DishNetwork, Direct TV, basically wherever you have cable. We are adding shows to the calendar weekly. So we have a big 2011 planned. So follow me to keep updated. Thanks so much.

I did the Sub T freestyle open mic couple Tuesdays back and the cat who spit directly after me was none other than Ace Da Vinci. His freestyle was better than alot of these niggas writtens. After politicking alil I discovered these 3 tracks from him that really says it all. Have a listen, you'll understand what I'm talking bout.
If you grew up in da Chi you should easily identify with this song. It's a tale of Visual's life growing up in this great city. It's a very detailed and well wrote song produced by PNS of the Molemen. Listen and get in tune with da homie!
"If you don’t know what he is on, you should get to know. A man with a plan, Visual is the hardest working independent artist in Chicago. His signature blue collar work ethic is evident when you consider that he has individually managed a majority of his career. This includes delivering on public relations, promotions, and booking responsibilities as an artist as well as pushing forward the initiatives of his Community Service record label as a manager. A brief look at his accomplishments will establish his title of “Working Class Legend”
This is new music from Ask Poet. We 1st heard "That New Shit" on Chicago Hip-Hop Connects new mix-tape and decided we needed to feature him on Chi-Bangerz.com.
"You're My Girl" is the latest banger from J. Hollins. This is the first single from the forthcoming album "Reloaded". This is also the first in a series of story based music videos to be released leading up to J.Hollins album "Reloaded".
1 Producer, 2 Emcees....TkS aka Nick Arcade & MC Fly... One hailing from the country the other from the city of wind....Nick Arcade & MC Fly...Two contrasting styles yet one sound...State Champs... They just dropped their debut mixtape at the end of 2010 "2 ILL Cats In A Ford Truck" An excerpt from and article written about the tape:
"This mixtape is more than a delicately recorded collection of songs; this is everything that Midwest hip-hop is struggling to achieve. The beats are tight without sacrificing excellent lyrics, which is a best of both worlds situation. The lyrics had me stuck at an appreciation of their references (from Arrested Development, to Animal House to The Beatles).
At times, State Champs can be like listening to Chuck Klosterman with beats, the quality of which needs to be stressed."
This is the 1st single off the album "IL STATE OF MIND" by Solo Mob Empire produced by my homie Castro Beatz. Have a listen and get at Solo Mob here: Facebook.com/solomobempire
We are all set to receive a musical gift from Dr. Dre as soon as Detox officially drops! This track here was recently leaked with a recorded version of Eminem actually rapping out the verse that he wrote with the intentions of having Dre perform it?! Those familiar with Em's usual approach immediately thought something sounded weird as the verse was meant for Dre. Call the leak a low blow to the Doctor but it spawned a great opportunity for a Chicago indie hip hop artist like Mike Petro. This Midwest emcee/producer known as meLLo immediately got on the grind and tweaked the leaked version of "Topless" to include a fresh 16-bar verse of his own. The legendary Nas is set to be featured on the original version of the song. However, this remix displays an unprecedented blend of West Coast production with East meets Midwest flow patterns! Chicago artists often get overlooked in the rap scene, but meLLo is making noise as he strives to be embraced by the hip hop community. He spits in "Topless":
"It's the way the game is written, I can't complain I'm in it, I spit it straight but these critics hate that I ain't a gimmick"
Indie fans will soon discover a new talent to rep the Windy City in proper fashion as meLLo sets out to splash the industry with his viscous wordplay and musical production. Armed with a pen and a pad, meLLo is set to drop his official debut release titled Who The F**k Is Mike Petro: A Million Man Mindstate on May 15. The tracks on this tape will take you on a joy ride through the wild, yet conscious thoughts of Mike Petro. The featured artists include Chicago notables Liffy Stokes, Skooda Chose, DaWreck, Patman, Comatose In2 Addiction, Esohel, and more! The record will be released exclusively from Miller Street Studios with the engineering of Dante D'Vino. Aside from a couple of hot industry remixes, the tape is mainly loaded with original production from meLLo, Dante, Los Angeles' RNS, and Cleveland's Killa Beatz. Share his music and follow him @meLLoMikePetro or meLLomuzik.com to receive updates and exclusive music!
Them South Paulina Street Boys done it again!!! This time it's Luxx, 1 half of the duo Magg Myle, that steps in the foreground with his "Flight 101". Flight 101 put his swag on full display with crisp punchlines & smooth delivery. This is what the streetz been waiting on!
